Militia Immaculata

Beginning on December 2, Father Reuter will give a spiritual conference on Mariology after the 1st Saturday Mass. There will be a special focus on the Militia Immaculatae, but all are welcome to come. We encourage people to consider joining this Marian apostolate.  sspx.org/en/militia-immaculatae-knight-immaculate-1

The Knights of the Immaculata is a very good way to grow in this knowledge and love and we are happy to enroll anyone into the knights who are not yet enrolled and hope to help you live your consecration to the Blessed Virgin through these discussions.

In order to help you be engaged on the topic, we will follow various books and we encourage you the read the books as well. There will be commentary and explanation on these books in the meetings, you may use the ORDER FORM.

On December 8th,  after the 9:30 AM low Mass and after the 7:00 PM sung Mass, as well as on December 12th at the 7:15 AM Mass, we will offer enrolment in the Miraculous Medal.

Please read THIS LINK and let us know if you are prepared to enroll in the MI on December 8th or if you would like to enroll on February 11, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Those who want to enroll in the MI may sign up below.

The Militia Immaculatae was founded more than 100 years ago. Is it still relevant today? Does it answer today's challenges?

When St. Maximilian Kolbe founded the Militia Immaculatae in 1917, he did so for one purpose: to bring the whole world to the feet of the Immaculata. It was not founded with a narrow set of means in mind, nor was it meant for a certain type of person. St. Maximilian says that "all...valid and legitimate means" (Statutes) must be used to bring souls to her. Therefore the means used are those which are most effective for the souls with whom we deal.

The M.I. is not an exclusive club, meant for a certain type or class of people. Its founder envisioned that anyone, from the common layperson all the way up to the highest member of the clergy, would join the ranks of Mary's Knights, eager to help her in whatever capacity they are able. It is meant to be, as he says, "something transcendent rather than general." He says that it should not replace other organizations within the Church, but should make them stronger. The M.I. "should not be viewed as just one organization among many others; rather, it ought to penetrate into the depths of all other organizations." (From a letter of St. Maximilian Kolbe dated December 31, 1935)

In particular, the M.I. is most crucial in view of the modern crisis within the Church. Regarding this increasing crisis and the worsening “decisive battle” (cf Our Lady of Fatima), a resolute army of combat troops under the banner of “the Lady, veiled with the sun” of the Apocalypse seems more necessary than ever.

Members of the Militia Immaculatae are called Knights. Does this mean that it is meant for men and boys only? Are women and girls allowed to join?

Absolutely, women and girls are most welcome to enroll as Knights. All baptized souls, especially once they have been confirmed, are called to fight for the cause of Christ and his Mother. All are attacked by Satan alike, and so all need the assistance of their heavenly Protectress, who will lead them on to victory. In addition, all the baptized are meant to be apostles, leading to Christ the souls with whom they come into contact. For this, the help of their Mother is invaluable.

The Statutes, or "Rule" of the Knights of the Immaculatae, as written by St. Maximilian Kolbe, embody the founder's vision for this army of the Blessed Virgin.

She will crush your head.” (Genesis 3:15).

Thou alone hast vanquished all heresies throughout the world.” (from the Roman Breviary).

I. Object

To work for the conversion to God of all men, be they sinners, heretics, schismatics, Jews, etc., in particular the Freemasons; and that all become saints, under the patronage and through the mediation of the Immaculate Virgin.

II. Conditions

1. To consecrate oneself entirely to the Immaculate Virgin, placing oneself freely as a docile and generous instrument in Her hands.

2. To wear the Miraculous Medal.

III. Means

1. If possible, to pray the following ejaculation at least once a day: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee, and for all those who do not have recourse to Thee, especially for the Masons and for all those who are commended to Thee.

2. To use all other valid and legitimate means for the conversion and sanctification of men, according to one’s means, in the different states and conditions of life, as the occasions present themselves; this is entrusted to the zeal and prudence of each one. Particularly recommended, however, is spreading the Miraculous Medal.

N.B. These means are recommended only as suggestions and not as an obligation; not one of them obliges under pain of sin, not even venial sin. Our principal motive is to help the greatest possible number of souls to be united with the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the mediation of the Immaculata.
